I'm kinda going crazy on blog posts, because I realized I hadn't posted in a while and now so many things keep coming to mind...
This is a picture of me, obviously. And I haven't been wearing make-up which is really hard. I am totally a girly girl but since I lost my mascara before I even got here I thought maybe I should just not wear make up for a little while. It's been challenging because someday's I don't feel as "beautiful" as the other girls. But I think God wants me to learn my worth and beauty are not defined by my outward appearance but is defined by whats on the inside. I don't know when I will start wearing make-up but everyday I'm pretty much crying because of how great God is and or sweating because its SO dang hot here so it's teaching me a good lesson of being comfortable with the person God made me to be and not to worry about what other people think because The Creator of the universe made me!
It says in Psalms, "You are fearfully and wonderfully made."
Community Outreach
YESTERDAY was so fun we went out into the community and did community outreach down at coconut grove, which is like downtown.
We went to pray for people. It was really cool, I was a little nervous at first but then I was like why do I have to be afraid? I'm talking to people about the God of the universe who loves them! There is no fear. So on one side of the street were some people from my Poland group and I was on the other side, at first I was just being friendly, saying Hello to people. Most people there are on vacation so its touristy. Then I just started asking people if they needed or would like prayer. It was scary at first but then I just started doing it. I got to pray for two people and it was really awesome!

Sunset
The sunset's here are really incredible. God's beauty and creation is everywhere. I can't do anything but praise Him because He is so worthy. A funny story about this picture is that a few seconds after my sandals fell about 10 or 11 feet down the rocks were I was sitting, so of course being a girl with adventure I was pleased with the opportunity to go down and grab it then rock climb back up the wall to sit on the ledge. It was really fun. Before anyone had time to think about what happened I was already down there. A few of my friends sitting with me were like wow that was brave, I was going to get it for you but you just hopped down so fast. It was pretty funny. Anyway, I love it here in Hawaii. Literally my life is learning about God and living in His beauty. SO AWESOME.
(I am wearing a bathing suit here) Hence the towel.

Mind Blown
IT has been such a long week. It is really awesome how much I am learning, it's really hard to post because everything is really personal. I've really been learning so much about my own heart, and what it really means to love God.
Monday and Tuesday
This week is a corporate week, so everyone goes in the Ohana Court and Darleen Cunningham, (her and her husband started YWAM) it's pretty awesome hearing her stories, and just what she has to say. This whole week is called "Dream Week". It's pretty awesome just hearing from the Lord what dreams He has placed on my heart. She has been talking a lot about faith, and what it looks like to walk out in radical faith. Having perseverance an I won't quit Spirit. Darleen talked about the disciples, and the faith that they had, and sometimes didn't have. Sometimes we think too much about the miracle and not about Jesus, what we need to do is put our eyes on Jesus and not the miracles. He doesn't hold our unbelief against us, but He is impressed when we show Him our I won't quit attitude. There is no limit on what He could do through us.
Wednesday
Heidi Baker came to speak to us. She is so inspirational. WOW this lady loves the Lord so much. She is really awesome, her faith is inspiring. Her biggest message was, all fruitfulness flows from intimacy with God. She talked about John 15. The passage of the vine and the branches. "God wants to love you to death and kiss you to life." She shared so many incredible stories of signs and wonders that the Lord has protected her, given her exactly what she needed and was always faithful. She also said, don't look at the people around you and wish you had their "anointing" or gifts. God made you unique in your own way, you do not need to wish you had someone else's anointing because you have your own gifts that God gave you. Try and figure out what gifts those are and learn to love God by using your gifts, and not wishing you had someone else's.
Heidi Baker shared a story about God multiplying cookies in Mozambique. During break we had cookies. Everyone was supposed to grab one but there was so many that they kept handing them out. God multiplied cookies today at YWAM! The message Heidi taught was there's always enough and don't forget to taste of the sweetness of the Lord in the midst of the business of ministry. I have tasted and I saw God is good! - This is from facebook, I copied it from someone who is in my group but it is stated so well.
My Poland/Berlin group is looking SO incredible. I LOVE them so much already. We want to be a family, and we set our family "culture" and what we are going to try and uphold from now and on our outreach. Basically it's a list of our values and our foundation as a team. So we as a group prayed and asked the Lord what culture He wanted to set for our group. This is the list; courage, Christ-like, love, keen Listeners, honest community, prayerful people, servant leadership, transparent, attitude of gratitude.
Please keep praying for our group! We still need a lot of funds. If we each get 1,000 by tomorrow then our outreach will be $400 cheaper!

History
We are learning so much history in class. It blows my mind of how many awesome Christian revivalists lived way before my generation. There are so many. Andy Byrd inspired us to be a nameless and faceless generation for Jesus.
Do you know anything about St. Patrick?
This is basically what we learned about but this is all from a website-
Do you know anything about St. Patrick?
This is basically what we learned about but this is all from a website-
Taken Prisoner By Irish Raiders
It is known that St. Patrick was born in Britain to wealthy parents near the end of the fourth century. He is believed to have died on March 17, around 460 A.D. Although his father was a Christian deacon, it has been suggested that he probably took on the role because of tax incentives and there is no evidence that Patrick came from a particularly religious family. At the age of sixteen, Patrick was taken prisoner by a group of Irish raiders who were attacking his family's estate. They transported him to Ireland where he spent six years in captivity. (There is some dispute over where this captivity took place. Although many believe he was taken to live in Mount Slemish in County Antrim, it is more likely that he was held in County Mayo near Killala.) During this time, he worked as a shepherd, outdoors and away from people. Lonely and afraid, he turned to his religion for solace, becoming a devout Christian. (It is also believed that Patrick first began to dream of converting the Irish people to Christianity during his captivity.)
Guided By Visions
After more than six years as a prisoner, Patrick escaped. According to his writing, a voice-which he believed to be God's-spoke to him in a dream, telling him it was time to leave Ireland.
To do so, Patrick walked nearly 200 miles from County Mayo, where it is believed he was held, to the Irish coast. After escaping to Britain, Patrick reported that he experienced a second revelation-an angel in a dream tells him to return to Ireland as a missionary. Soon after, Patrick began religious training, a course of study that lasted more than fifteen years. After his ordination as a priest, he was sent to Ireland with a dual mission-to minister to Christians already living in Ireland and to begin to convert the Irish. (Interestingly, this mission contradicts the widely held notion that Patrick introduced Christianity to Ireland.)

learning...
I feel as though I am learning SO much. I learned how prideful and selfish I really am and that no sacrifice I could make ever compares to Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, a man who never sinned laid down His life. Romans 5 "while we were still sinners Christ died for us." That is incredible.
I'm going to post on here some thoughts that I wrote in my journal over the past few days, these are mostly Andy Byrd's words but some mine...
Our primary goal in life is to receive his love
No longer is worship about us, from my personal intimacy He gets GLOBAL GLORY!
What you believe about God is the most important thing about your life and its what you will live.
The most dangerous thing on the planet is safe Christianity. There is nothing safe about being a Christian, if we claim to love God and believe that His son died on the cross to save our sins so that we could spend eternity with him we should live like it. We are so afraid of being offended, or being offensive... we close our eyes to not make people feel embarrassed when they are making the most important decision of their life! It's not embarrassing, we should be standing with them, praising God that they are now saved and free from a life separated from Him!
When Christ died the curtain was ripped from TOP to BOTTOM, no one could reach the top, it was impossible to be ripped from the top, however nothing is impossible for God.
We are liberated from a lifetime of sin and condemnation!
Lastly,
I can't be more excited that God is bringing me to Berlin and Poland!

Zephaniah 3:17
"The Lord your God is in your midst, a might one who will save, He will rejoice over you with gladness He will quiet you by His love, He will exalt over you with loud singing."

The Gospel was written for children to understand. It is so simple. Romans 10 says, "confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead you will be saved."
When Christ died the curtain was ripped from TOP to BOTTOM, no one could reach the top, it was impossible to be ripped from the top, however nothing is impossible for God.
2 Cor. 5:17 "if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come." I had such awesome Children's leaders and pastors growing up that this verse is forever instilled in my mind.

Long Day...
This day was so long and so great. Andy Byrd is such a gifted speaker with an awesome testimony. I can just see how much he loves the Lord, and has an intimate relationship with Him. We all want and strive after the intimate relationship with "the Man" as Mr. Byrd would say. He talked about the freedom in Christ Jesus.
They also announced our outreach locations! I'm going to Berlin and Poland from the end of March to Early June with 11 other people from my DTS! I'm SO excited. God is going to do some awesome things! All Glory to you Jesus!
Sorry this post is short I'm super tired... Goodnight!

Being a Follower
Today was our first day of class. This week Andy Byrd is teaching us about the Gospel. He talked about being a follower of God and what that looked like and if we really wanted to say yes to Him. It was awesome. We also have a reading plan we have to abide by and questions to answer. By the end of 6 months I will have read the entire bible! SO cool... I have never read the entire bible and there is someone keeping me accountable! I also am reading two other books
Is That Really You God? By Loren Cunningham the founder of YWAM
and
Pure Heart by Tom and Donna Cole, they are my school leaders.
I'm so blessed to be apart of an organization with such awesome people who have huge hearts for the Lord!
If you could pray for me and finances for my outreach that would be so awesome! I need 2500 by Feb 2nd!

DTS Orientation
Today was pretty good, I woke up around 6, I was the first one up in my room of 8 girls. It's hard to keep quiet in the morning because everything creeks and we also don't have a light in the bathroom. I also have been waking up really itchy and have been itchy all day. I went to walmart and bought new sheets and a mattress cover because I think it has something to do with my sheets.
Today we had orientation. We got to give away our cultural gifts and we had to take our shoes off because we were now walking on holy ground, according to the Hawaiian culture. We went into the Ohana Court... (if you have ever seen the disney movie lilo and stitch you know ohana means family.) It was really cool, the Hawaiian people sang for us and we introduced our different schools to them, and we all got to stand. My school Fire and Fragrance is the biggest school on campus with over 100 people. It's pretty cool the past few days have been all about meeting people and learning about how they got here. God has provided so many different miracles in getting people here it is really incredible. We serve an awesome God.
We had a time of worship today, one of the University of the Nations school leaders spoke about being uncomfortable with God. He gave a great demonstration involving three people. one person was standing up facing the ground and the two people behind him were holding back his arms. The speaker said, this is how we need to be with God uncomfortable, but willing to inch closer and closer to the ground knowing God will never let us go. When he was finished with the message we all worshiped together. It was so beautiful. Everyone worships in their own way, and you can see people are not afraid to worship God with all that they are. Some people were dancing, others shouting, some just praying... Whatever it was God was being Glorified.
There was a ton more to talk about but I'm so tired, I'll post more tomorrow!
All Glory Honor Power is Yours!
Amen

Chico
More people got here today! A girl name Irene came she is the only one so far in my room. She is from Finland. She taught me a few fin-ish words. Moi means Hi. It's pretty cool. I love learning different languages. It's weird that I don't really learn useful languages though, such as Swedish, French, Spanish? I learn weird ones like Finish, Creole, Polski.
I went to the farmers market and tried this really yummy fruit its called Chico

I provided a link so you could see what it looks like and read about it.

NEGU
Today is a great and sad day. Precious Jessica Joy Rees went to heaven today! I'm so excited that she doesn't have to live in pain but am sad that we are missing a gem in the world. Jessie was so wonderful. I had the privilege of knowing her family by being Shaya's (her older sister) C-Group leader last year. During C-Group is when their family found out about her tumor. Shaya always was so optimistic and didn't skip a beat. I was so sad when I first found out about her tumor. It kills me to see God's children in pain. We continually prayed for sweet Jessie, but God had called her home today, I know that he hates seeing his children suffer. I often thought about Jessie and her family and admire their strength. Their dependence on the Lord never shifted throughout Jessie's hardships. Thankfully Jessie got to spend one more Christmas with her family in Colorado which was exactly what she wanted. I think my heart goes out to Shaya and the Rees family so much because my sister had died when I was 6, and it was so painful for me and hard to understand and Sierra (my sister) was only 8 days old. It is amazing how much love you can have for someone who you have never met. I never got to meet Sierra in her few days of life here on earth, but I look forward to the day I get to meet her in heaven. It's so hard to lose a sibling no matter what age or stage of life. Jessie's life was devoted to NEGU Never Ever Give Up and JoyJars. Joy Jars are specifically made for kids with cancer, to spread a little bit of Joy in their lives. Jessie brought SO much joy to everyone she met. Sierra and Jessie are only months apart in age and I know they are playing and dancing around in heaven right now praising our Abba! Pray for the Rees family this week.
But He said, "Let the children alone and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to these." Matthew 19:14

Always thinking about you my angel! You mean so much to our family. We all love you so much. I imagine what it would be like if you were here and what would be different. But I praise God that you are home where you belong in no pain only joy skipping on the streets made of gold. Thank you Lord that your plans are SO good, and who are we to question your goodness. You are the Great I Am. Thank you for blessing me with amazing friends and family who love you so much and who always trust in you even when things do not go to plan. Help us to trust in you more each day. Please give us confidence and strength. Thank you for these sweet children. Bless the Rees family this week Lord. I love you.

SUNBURN
I like to not wear sunscreen however it is a poor choice. I got a little sun on my face today. Today was super relaxed I walked for 3 hours because I was bored and really had nothing to do. It was really great I was on the beach looking out at God's beautiful creation. We are so blessed. I'm so happy to be here and I can't wait till the other students get here!
One thing that happened today that wasn't so awesome was I saw a leopard gecko in my room on the wall, and aparently that is completely normal. If you know me, you know I dislike anything that crawls. I was totally freaked by that thing on the wall. I took a picture so I could post it, but it kept moving when I tried. Eww...
DAY 1
Last night was so incredible I was surrounded by friends and family sending me off praying over me to go and just learn a ton. Thank you so much for everyone who was there last night, it really meant a lot to me and my family knowing that I have such great people supporting me. Naomi, Erin and I fell asleep lastnight or I should say this morning because it was like 2:30am when we went to bed... and Erin woke up and left at 3:30 and Naomi left at 5.
I was determined not to cry this morning, I was really strong until my Oma started crying and I started to cry, but I don't think anyone saw...Her and my mom dropped me off at the airport this morning. I am going to miss my family so much but I know that The Lord is keeping me safe, and them safe too.
The plane was horrible, it was the most consistently turbulent flight I had ever been on. But I had no worries. I was never once worried or anxious today. Thank you Lord for your protection! I was excited and happy to be here in Hawaii my new home. The staff are all so friendly and great. For dinner I went to a staff BBQ and it was all staff there were like 200 people there plus children. It was really great to see everyone. I didn't realize that fire and fragrance was going on while 4 other schools were going on too... Luckily not all of the schools are 100+ people because that would be hectic. I am SO excited to wake up in the morning and start anew day! Thank you Lord for your protection and traveling mercies today. You are so wonderful and I give you all the glory! Thank you for your Son dying on the cross, and rising again for ME! I love you so much! Amen.
