Seek His Face

Recently I have been thinking about seeking God's face, a lot of songs that we sing here we talk about seeking His face. I did not understand what that meant? And how I could seek God's face, and why I would want too. While I was playing the piano I asked the Lord what I should write a song about? I was lead to Psalm 27:8

"8 When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek."

It struck me that when God said to David, "seek ye my face" davids heart immediately said "thy face Lord, will I seek." It is amazing to me, because there was no hesitation, no question. immediately his heart. I asked the Lord for more revelation on seeking His face, and He just showed me how personal and intimate it is to seek someones face, to look at someone in the face is so much different then to talk over the phone and over text. We fall into passivity when we "text" about big issues because we are scared, or worried about the response of the other person. However, God tells us to seek His face. A face of perfect love, perfect peace. Why wouldn't we want to seek His face?

So today, I went and looked up more of what the bible says about seeking His face.

SEEK means: to make a search or inquiry, to try to discover

"face of God is a term used to refer to the character of God, especially his favor towards his people. For God to turn his face to his people is to offer them his grace and help; for God to turn his face against his people is to withhold his favor and blessing. To seek the face of God is to seek his favor."

The more I read, the more verses I find on seeking God.

2 Chronicles 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Numbers 6:25-26
25 The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: 26 The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

1 Chronicles 16:11
Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.
Psalm 105:4
Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

Lord,

Please give me a deeper revelation on what it means to seek your face. Help my heart to say, Your face Lord I will seek daily.

Amen

Staff Training

It's so surreal that I have been here for a little over three weeks. I have learned so much about myself, and leadership. I live at a community house with radical lovers of Jesus, I can't imagine living anywhere else during this season. It's amazing how you can feel like family with people that you've only really known for two weeks.

The first week was fire and fragrance staff training, we started off by being in the prayer room for three hours, then in the afternoons we would have lecture. Donna Cole (one of the school leaders) spoke on radical love, she brought such simplicity to loving people, and how the bible says we should love. Once she spoke we split into groups of three and had to teach and apply the information almost instantaneously. I am still reading and praying the verses on love, and I want to be a women of radical love.

Christians have no Excuse for not loving, "because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us." Romans 5:5
After a full week of just Fire and Fragrance staff training, we had corporate staff training. The man who spoke was an incredible wise leader. He runs a leadership DTS in Montana. "It's not about being perfect, but knowing your role." Be a great follower, and you will learn how to be a great leader. We never stop learning about God, and our identity is not YWAM. He posed this question, "are you a disciple of Christ or your position?"

During the weekend we had some friends come and teach us very practical discipleship tools. People are coming to this DTS to be trained. We redefined the meaning of small groups, and declared them as training groups, these groups are to get people equipped and trained. These groups are strategic in learning the gospel, preaching, and teaching.  I mean, they are coming to a Discipleship Training School.  What do you expect? As a staff we are committed unto breakthrough. We are committed to see our students reach freedom, and know their identity in Christ.

We are being training to seek and save the lost.
   Luke 19:10

10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

The whole reason we are doing any training, the whole reason why I am here is to seek and save the lost. I long to be more like Jesus everyday. We are all being trained by Him daily. I am so thankful to be here, I know that the Lord is going to do some amazing things in the next three months. We are going to see mass salvations in Jesus' Name. IT IS SO EXCITING TO FOLLOW JESUS!

These are just a few pictures that show the first week here on the big island! It has been quick almost two weeks of being back here in Kona, staff training is going by really fast! Last week we learned about radical love, and this week that being a good leader is being a great learner! I am so excited for the privilege to disciple students in a little over 3 weeks! I am so expectant that God is going to do amazing things in this school! And I am just waiting in eager anticipation to see how God moves! Thanks for all the prayers and support! I miss everyone at home a bunch! Praying and thinking about my friends and family from the OC often!!
